Getting a Gas Appliance Installed Properly
A new gas cooktop, oven, or heater doesn't just get plugged in. The connection point has to be the right type for the appliance, the hose and fittings need to meet current standards, and the whole system has to be pressure tested to confirm there are no leaks before it's used. In Victoria, all of that has to be carried out by a licensed gasfitter — it isn't a DIY job or something for a handyman.
Up here in the hills a lot of homes run on LPG rather than mains natural gas, and the two aren't interchangeable. An appliance set up for natural gas won't run safely on LPG without the correct conversion, so getting the right person on the job matters even more when you're off the mains.
Old gas heaters are the other one we get called out to. Ageing space heaters and wall furnaces can develop cracked heat exchangers and start spilling carbon monoxide into the room. If your heater is more than a decade old and has never been serviced, it's worth having it checked or replaced before you rely on it through another winter.

We install and connect the full range of household gas appliances — cooktops and ovens, freestanding upright cookers, gas space heaters and wall furnaces, ducted heating units, continuous flow and storage gas hot water systems, and outdoor BBQ points for the deck or entertaining area. If you're swapping an old appliance for a new one, we handle the changeover, disconnect the old unit safely, and get the new one running.
We work with both natural gas and LPG, which matters out here where plenty of properties run off a bottle or a bulk tank rather than the mains. We make sure every appliance is set up for the gas type it's actually connected to, with the correct injectors and pressure, so it burns cleanly and safely.
Every installation is pressure tested and checked before we leave, and we issue a compliance certificate on completion. That's your documented proof the work was done to current Victorian standards — worth keeping for insurance and for when you eventually sell the place.

Ben communicated extremely well both by email and text and during the time he arrived to install an upgraded toilet. He explained very clearly three options I had and gave pricing for each. Will definitely use Ben for any future plumbing work and can thoroughly recommend his work and reliability.

Google - Woan Chen Home Owner
Benjamin was very holistic in his inspection and provided a detailed report after checking the roof. I had a roof leak that was causing the power to trip, and he helped identify the areas that needed fixing. He also clearly identified other areas of concern that could lead to major issues down the track. Very helpful and honest. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to friends and family.
